Judging

Judging and Mentoring

The Kennel Club provides access to a learning 'Academy'. Here you will find a number of breed specific films aimed at increasing your knowledge of  Polish Lowland Sheepdogs; we believe this is an invaluable resource and would encourage you to have a look if you are serious about understanding the breed and how they are put together.

In order to access the information, you need to go to https://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/academy/ then head on over to the 'Breed Specific Films' section and then scroll down to the PLS section and follow the instructions to view the videos.

Breed Appreciation Days

For those interested in judging, the PLSCWWE runs workshops and assessment days most years. Speakers and assessors are knowledgeable, open, honest and unbiased, giving the correct insight into the breed.

Breed Appreciation Days include an interactive breed talk, a Q&A session, a practical 'hands on' opportunity to go over and discuss a number of dogs and the option to sit the Multiple Choice Exam. Group mentoring sessions may also be available. We have also run two highly successful online BADs, both with 100% MCE passes and we have had great feedback with people joining us online for all over the world.
A1/A2/A3/B Judging List JEP List

Apply for Judging Lists

The PLSCWWE will continue to maintain its current judging criteria and lists until the Kennel Club's Judges Educational Programme (JEP) system is fully implemented at the end of 2025. The Polish Lowland Sheepdog is in stud book band A-. Our judging requirements are inline with those of the Kennel Club (30 'hands on' dogs for CC level old route/15 JEP). As a club we will support judges who demostrate knowledge and integrity combined with a genuine interest in the breed.

If you would like to be considered for the Judging List, please get in touch with the Judges' Co-ordinator, Terrie Cousins-Brown or download an application form. Judges wishing to progress should submit a judging update using this form.
